NATCLINIC

Natclinic is a specialized dental clinic in the Dominican Republic, the biggest on the south region of the country. Originally, it consisted on a single level structure but the owners decided to expand upwards and raised two more floors of around 190 m2 each.

I was asked to design, manage and direct the overall esthetics of the new floors, bringing along a new visual concept different from what already existed downstairs.

EARLY STAGES

When I arrived to the proyect, it was in greay construction, still raw. However, that gave me the advantage to see and prevent critical points that would’ve later affected the final stage.

DESIGN PROCESS

The first things that were designed were the dental stations that went in all the offices, nine in total. The wood colors were carefully chosen and also the dental chair color to complement one another.

Then the roof design was done for all the areas as well as the technical ceiling lights positioned.

The receptionist desk was designed and sent to make. The wall and ceiling panel where also designed and tailored made in wood.

While construction was happening, I had to scout numerous stores to buy all the furniture, decoration, light fixtures, accesories, plants. Overall, I saw this project through completely.

FINAL RESULT

After almost a year of intense hardwork, the tree beared its fruits and the results are magical. This is the biggest proyect to date that I’ve handled alone. Almost 400 m2 of construction, planning, designing, supervising, choosing, buying, placing and styling. A proyect from which I learned a ton, from managing people different from my own to the nails necesary for an specific wall. A proyect I hold close to my heart.
